Master Plumbers, Gasfitter or Drainlayers are the most highly qualified trades people working in the plumbing industry. Each of them has spent four years in an apprenticeship and a further two years studying and working for their craftsman examination.
Some stop there, but many go on to gain experience in the industry and apply for membership of one of the 16 Master Plumber Associations throughout the country.
To earn membership they have to prove themselves competent to provide the highest level of service and workmanship even to the extent of allowing other Master Plumbers to inspect their work. Once becoming a member of one of these associations, they must adhere to a strict code of ethics to maintain their status as a Master Plumber.
Every Master Plumber is familiar with all local bylaws, regulations and requirements covering sanitary plumbing, gas fitting, drainage and general plumbing work. They are also experienced in business practice, advising clients, performing work by contract, and employing staff.
